Social Media

The world of social media has expanded to include not only blogs and message boards, but also Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, Youtube, and other social networking sites.  Whereas traditional media — print, broadcast, etc. — provided platforms for the delivery of content and advertising, social media represents a shift in how people discover and share information.  Specifically, social media enables interactive networking through which ideas and news are shared.  Familiarity with and use of social media can be a particularly useful tool for advocacy organizations because it provides another platform to share your message and build relationships.  Social media can be a powerful engine to help shape opinions, experiences, and perspectives on asset building.
