Hosting conferences can provide a unique opportunity to enhance a coaltion's reputation by increasing its visibility before, during, and after the conference through conference materials, reports, news paper articles, press releases, and by word of mouth of the participants. This is particularly important when coaltions have a specific focus or unique strengths that they want to emphasize. Conferences allow coaltions to showcase their vision, recruit new members, and establish clear objectives for moving forward whether through information sharing or policy initiatives.

Today the format of a conferences can be adaptabled to the needs of a coaltion. For example, high speed technology has introduced online confereces and webinars.
